Our Staff
Integrating Curriculum Subjects for Maximum Comprehension
At the Curtis Blake School, our teachers systematically reinforce
skills learned through specialized techniques throughout the regular
education curriculum. This facilitates continuity, generalization and
internalization. All of our teachers are familiar with the strategies
for decoding, spelling, reading in context, comprehension, and written
and oral expression. Hence, these strategies can be integrated
throughout the school day by using common terminology specific to the
special educational interventions.
We believe that the integration of our specialized techniques into the regular curriculum promotes maximum comprehension. Teachers trained in the use of common terminology are intrinsic to the Curtis Blake Day School Program. Our teaching staff has been thoroughly grounded in the aforementioned techniques, which they employ across the curriculum every day. As a result, students are exposed to consistent strategies in every subject area. This integration gives our learning strategies their ultimate power.
Beyond the effectiveness of our strategies is the profound impact that a caring staff can make on a troubled child. We are proud of our curriculum, and prouder still of the compassionate and dedicated professionals who implement it.
"Staff interviews indicate that a goal of the Curtis Blake Day School is to integrate all components of the Curriculum Frameworks so that students can become independent and successful learners."- Massachusetts Department of Education
